Restful Reflections of 2011

Several times this year, I found that solace; moments stolen from the hectic outside world through reading a good book.

Everywhere I have sought rest and not found it, except sitting in a corner by myself with a little book. – Arthur Helps

If there are times you need to be taken away from it all, forget the bath salts and pick up one of the following. These are the books that kept the world at bay, even for just a little bit.

  1. I love that quote!

And, yes, you are an enabler! But like you said, aren’t we all?

The Old Man and the Sea I read in 2009 I think it was and it is still with me. I have yet to read The Graveyard Book but I want to try to get it in in 2012.

  2. I think you are so right about East of Eden and Boneshaker! They’re great books from different reasons. The Graveyard Book is such a magical read. I keep saying that I’m going to re-read it but haven’t yet. Thanks for adding everything else to my reading list! ;-)
